5 Days Marangu Route Kilimanjaro Climbing Itinerary

$1,573 pp (USD)

Overview

The Marangu Route 5 Days, also called the “Coca-Cola Route,” is the fastest and most direct path to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. It’s the only route with hut accommodations, perfect for trekkers who prefer sleeping indoors instead of camping in tents.

The trail begins at Marangu Gate (1,860m). It takes you through lush rainforest, scenic moorlands, and an alpine desert. Along the way, you’ll stop at Mandara HutHorombo Hut, and Kibo Hut — each offering warm meals, bunk beds, and basic shelter. These overnight stays add a level of comfort not found on other routes.

The 5-day version moves quickly. It gives you less time to adjust to altitude. That’s why it’s best for experienced hikers or those who adapt well at high elevations. If you want a slower pace, the 6-day option is a better choice.

Even though the trek is short, it still offers an incredible mix of landscapes. The final push to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) starts just after midnight. You’ll reach the summit at sunrise, a moment you’ll never forget.

A dedicated team of guides, porters, and cooks will support you every step. They’ll carry your gear, prepare meals, and ensure your safety and comfort.

If you’re looking for a budget-friendlystructured, and comfortable Kilimanjaro climb, the Marangu Route 5 Days is a great option. It’s also ideal during the rainy season thanks to the huts.

Book your 5-day Marangu climb today and experience the challenge of Africa’s highest mountain on a historic and scenic trail.
