6 Days Umbwe Route Kilimanjaro Climbing Itinerary

6 Days Umbwe Route-Kilimanjaro Climbing Itinerary

$2287 Per Person

Overview

The 6 Days Umbwe Route is the shortest, steepest, and most challenging route on Mount Kilimanjaro. Designed for experienced trekkers and adventurous climbers, the Umbwe Route offers a thrilling and less crowded path to the summit of Africa’s highest mountain. This route is known for its rapid ascent, dramatic ridges, dense rainforest, and breathtaking scenery, making it one of Kilimanjaro’s most scenic and rewarding trekking experiences.

Unlike the more popular routes, the Umbwe Route provides a true wilderness adventure with remote trails and fewer climbers on the mountain. The route approaches the summit from the south and later joins the Machame Route near Barranco Camp before continuing along the Southern Circuit to Uhuru Peak at 5,895 meters. Although physically demanding, the Umbwe Route rewards climbers with spectacular landscapes, dramatic valleys, giant senecios, and unforgettable summit views.
